Keeping up with a blog is much more difficult than I imagined. After a couple of very busy weeks, I'm not feeling very inspired; nor have I had much time to focus on capturing the things in my world that I find inspiring (I also have to get use to carrying the digital camera around!). So, I'm sharing some favorite photos of Darryl Carter's home, one of my favorite interior designers. These photos were featured in the November issue of Elle Decor. His use of neutrals and mix of styles is amazing.

Freshly painted (RL 'Stucco White') with white linen sectional and zebra print ottomans (RL Home). I've always wanted an all-white room and I think I pulled this off without it looking sterile. It's such an inviting room.
The b/w prints are our photos from travels, framed in Pottery Barn Gallery Frames. The framed butterfly art is from HomeGoods (a nice surprise last weekend). The closet doors in the backgrounds of picture #3 so do not go with the look, so now I'm thinking louvered doors would go great - keeps with the informal, Malibu/California look I think the room now has. I at least pretend this is our 'Malibu' look anyway...

I LOVE this telescoping side table from Lorin Marsh. It would go so well in our den with the chrome and black leather. I have a weakness for small side tables, just large enough to hold a glass of wine and maybe a small book or two. They really do help finish off a room, more like an accessory than a piece of furniture.

Our guest room. I wanted a relaxing, neutral palate in this room. The only bold color is the RL Cobalt Blue lamp. I'm pleased at how well the horse head sculpture fits the 'refined', yet simple look I was going for (that's a HomeGoods find by the way). The headboard is from Charles P. Rogers in New York.
Also enjoying Thad Hayes "The Tailored Interior". Just my style. I've been looking at the rooms over and over again, seeing something new (and getting new ideas) each and every time. I love the way the rooms showcase the furniture - I have a weakness for beautiful pieces that can stand out in a room, and his designs allow even subtle pieces to take center stage.
